Constant quality, an enduring ambition

Barry Callebaut applies uniform quality standards worldwide. We maintain quality right from the start of the production process, with the supply and production of the raw materials. Our presence in Africa, for example, at the source of cocoa production, has strategic importance. It enables us to both maintain effective quality control, and to guarantee a constant supply of high-quality cocoa to our customers – from the origin and in the variety they demand.

We also apply uniform quality standards in chocolate production. The introduction, in 1989, of a well thought out HACCP (Hazard Analysis of Critical Control Points) system in all our production sites immediately made us pioneers in this field. This system controls the microbiological and physical safety of our products. The ISO 9001 certificates for our sites represent a guarantee of care and quality at every stage in the production process. One outcome of this is the perfect compatibility of our production units, which in turn ensures continuity of supply for all our products, along with constant quality. Our thinking in terms of quality, particularly constant quality, is also reflected in regular training programs for our employees plus audits and Quality Assurance programs. These result in a steady, continuous improvement of our products and service.

Furthermore, we take into account the environmental aspect by having also the ISO 14001 certificate.
